  • Was a nice day today with the temp in the 80's today.
  • Stopped Augie's force fetch for this week.  The WCI is this coming weekend.
  • He is doing well with his marks and his doubles, I have good hopes for this coming weekend.

04/30/2008 ( Madison, WI )

  • A few pictures from the training session at the Madison grounds.  I sent these via e-mail but I am not sure if you got them or not.
  • Also I will be clearing the past months pictures from the website. If there are some you would like to save.  Save them to your hard drive.  I will also have a copy of them locally if something happens.
  • We are starting movement on the force fetch table, he is still a bit nervouse on the table and displays it with mouthiness.
  • He is marking well and generally coming along nicely.  I think we both will be happy when he is off the table.

04/23/2008 ( Kenosha, WI )

  • Did some land training on the grounds a few dogs will be running a test at this weekend.  It is supposed to rain for the next 4 or 5 days so I was not sure when I would be able to take pictures.
  • He is marking very well and doing well on his doubles. Attempted a walk-up single today and he really wanted to break, but he was on a lead.
  • Can tell seeing birds daily is helping a great deal.
  • He has not put what we are doing on the force fetch table with the field work yet.  Which is a good thing.  I try to keep them separated as long as possible.

04/23/2008 ( Kenosha, WI )

  • Did some water training this morning and took a few pictures.
  • He did nicely on his double, we are going to have to decheat him that is for sure.

04/16/2008 ( Madison, WI )

  • Madison Retriever Club Field Trial Grounds.
  • Augie did another cold double today, he did very well with his memory bird.
  • The go bird today was a long water entry, he hesitated on entering the water.  I have noticed he does not like long entries into the water.  This is something we will work on.
  • His table work is coming along very nicely.  he is progressing pretty quick.

04/11/2008 ( Kenosha, WI )

  • The weather broke a little bit this morning, you can see the dark clouds in some of the pictures.  I was able to take out the camera a bit.
  • Did Augies first double today.  He has a loose hunt on the memory bird but overall I was pleased with it.
  • He is understanding the pressure on the table.  He is still nervous about it but he complies.
  • We have not done any formal marks in the water yet.  The water is still a bit cold, have been letting them play in the water with fun bumpers.  I am trying to get them used to the cold water again.

04/09/2008 ( Kenosha, WI )

  • The pictures are a little blurred, it was overcast all day and the camera was having a hard time today.  I am hoping it is not the camera.
  • Augie and been progressing nicely on the table.  Today was his first day of ear pinch, he reacted very normal.  The 2nd & 3rd day are usually the true test on how they will handle the ear pressure.
  • Overall he is doing well with his marks.  We have been working on scent discrimination, he tends to get hung up in old scent rather quickly.
  • He is a bad cheater on water marks, we have not done a bunch while we have been up here.  The water just thawed 8 or 9 days ago and it is still in the 30's here.

04/07/2008 ( Harvard, IL)

  • The first few pictures are his table session in the morning.  He is doing well with the hold, but still is nervous on the table.  He is shacking while up there.  As you know the Force is more about teaching he to deal with the stress more than anything.  I will continue with the hold a few more days and begin the pressure part of the force.
  • The pictures below that are of Augie doing his marks in a corn field.  He is working well for me.  We are working on scent discrimination, he tends to get hung up in old scent.
